Harvest Mouse Balancing On Wheat Ornament

This harvest mouse ornament is from the Sherratt and Simpson collection of animal figurines. It depicts the tiny mammal, using its tail to balance on a head of wheat. The harvest mouse is most common in the south and south east of England, they weigh less than a 2p piece and are master acrobats, using their prehensile tails to grasp and wrap around objects. They love living in crops, tall grasses, hedgerows, verges and reedbeds. These cute mice build tennis ball sized nests for both wintering and nesting, made of woven grass and placed above ground height, nestled amongst the plant stems.

The wheat looks harvest ripe and this mouse is no fool. He’s grabbing as much corn as he can and heading back to the hedgerow in a hurry, before that massive thing with whirling blades shows up.

This Sherratt & Simpson figurine is made from durable resin, painted in realistic colours.
