The harvest mouse is most common in the south and south east of England. Weighing less than a 2p coin, their preferred habitats are crops, tall grasses, hedgerows, verges and reedbeds. With the winter about to set in, it’s likely that this harvest mouse will build a winter nest, a ball of woven grass, nestled amongst plant or grass stems.
